Join Our Programs at Naperville Safety Town

Teen Leaders are volunteers who are interested in being a camp leader, enjoy being around young children, and listen to directions well. Teen Leaders will be responsible for a group of up to five children in which they will act as a camp counselor and guide through the camp activities. Teen Leaders are expected to be at Safety Town Monday – Friday for 3.25 hours each day. They will earn 16.25 hours of community service by the end of the week. Teens will receive daily training before campers arrive. On the last day, they will receive a signed certificate of completion with the amount of hours served. Teen Leaders should be entering 7th grade or above in the Fall of 2026.

Team Captains are volunteers who are peer leaders to the Teen Leaders and help lead the children through the week-long camp. 

Teen Captains are expected to be at Safety Town Monday – Friday for 3.25 hours each day. They will earn 16.25 hours of community service by the end of the week. Teens will receive daily training before campers arrive. 

On the last day, they will receive a signed certificate of completion with the amount of hours served. We ask that Team Captains have volunteered for one summer and are entering Junior Year in the Fall of 2026

Calling all responsible teens! Want to make a difference in your community and have some fun along the way? Then join our awesome team of Safety Town volunteers for our upcoming open bike events!

As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for young cyclists as they explore the streets of Safety Town. Here’s what you can expect:

• Become a Safety Champion: Guide young riders at crosswalks, stop signs, bridges, and traffic lights, teaching them valuable safety rules through interactive activities.
• Empower the Next Generation: Inspire confidence in young cyclists as they navigate the miniature town, fostering a love for safe biking habits.
• Make a Lasting Impact: Your positive energy and dedication will contribute to a memorable event, shaping responsible cycling habits for years to come.

Training is provided just 20 minutes before the events kick off, so you’ll be fully prepared to guide these enthusiastic cyclists on their adventures.
